Montessori-Brigitte-Kindergarten

The Montessori Brigitte Kindergarten was founded almost 30 years ago as the first Montessori kindergaten in Basel. Since then, in its role as an integrated kindergarten, it has been working to support all children including those with special needs according to the principles of the Italian doctor and educator Maria Montessori. The kindergarten aims to promote specific skills (reading, writing and arithmetic) and to provide an environment conducive to the development of the childrens' own personalities.

The children learn in a warm and inviting atmosphere, gently guided by the Montessori teachers. An important goal is to integrate special needs children into daily life and to help all the children to interact with each other in a spirit of partnership.

Close cooperation between kindergarten teachers, parents, doctors, speech therapists and physiotherapists creates an important foundation for achieving this goal.

We are an independent, non-denominational kindergarten and our primary aim is to serve the interests of each child.

The school is officially recognized by the Departmemt of Education of the City of Basel as a kindergarten for children from 3 - 7 years of age.
